Fergie is excited about adding the role of a prostitute to her acting portfolio.
The Grammy-winning singer has been cast as Saraghina in “Nine,” a big-screen adaptation of the Tony-winning musical. She will perform the saucy song “Be Italian” with Guido, played by Daniel Day-Lewis.
“She’s basically a prostitute on the beach,” Fergie told The Associated Press in an interview. “She introduces him to the world of sexuality. It’s a very strong song. I’m just thrilled I get to play a character. I’m singing, but I’m not singing as myself. I’m going to be singing as a character, and that’s what’s really exciting to me.” (Full Story)

| Fergie to join the cast of musical ‘Nine’ |

In her first significant leading role on the big screen, Fergie (Stacy Ann Ferguson) of the Black Eyed Peas has been cast as one of the final puzzle pieces in Rob Marshall’s ensemble musical, “Nine” for The Weinstein Company, Access Hollywood has learned exclusively. The casting will be announced Friday.
While there are several female leads in the film, including Academy Award winners Kate Hudson (announced Wednesday), Nicole Kidman, Sophia Loren and Marion Cotillard, as well as Academy Award nominee Penelope Cruz, Fergie’s role will be significant. (Full Story)

| Fergie wins big at Japan’s MTv Video Music Awards |

R&B superstars reigned supreme at the MTV Video Music Awards in Japan on Saturday (31May08), with NE-YO and FERGIE scooping the night’s top honours.
So Sick singer Ne-Yo’s Because Of You landed the Best Male Video award, and Black Eyed Peas star Fergie won the Best Female Video for Big Girls Don’t Cry.
The event, which was held at Japan’s Saitama Super Arena, also honoured several of Japan’s hottest acts.
Best Group Video went to Japanese rockers Yoshika & Lisa for Love Comes And Goes, while singer Hata Motohiro won Best New Artist of the Year for Uroko. (Full Story)

| Fergie to develop shoe line with Brown Shoe |

Brown Shoe Co., which operates the Famous Footwear shoe store chain, said Thursday it will partner with singer Fergie to create a shoe brand.
Brown Shoe product developers are collaborating with Fergie for the line, which will debut in spring 2009.
The partnership was facilitated by Fergie’s marketing agents at Wilhelmina Artist Management.
Fergie, whose real name is Stacy Ann Ferguson, is a member of the Black Eyed Peas.
Brown Shoe shares fell 34 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $16 during midday trading. The stock has traded between $11.89 and $33 during the past 52 weeks.

| Fergie Unveils Her New Kipling Bag Collection |

Fergie just teamed up with myspace fashion for a show called The Fit, and gave us a behind-the-scenes look at her new bag collection she developed called the Fergie for Kipling Collection. She teams up with different models to show how to pair the different bags with different outfits.
The styles of the bags are pretty funky, with bright colors, and a retro feel. They’re Fergalicious!

| Fair shelling out $270,000 for performer Fergie |

Hip-hop singer Fergie will be paid $270,000 for her appearance at the San Diego County Fair next month, the largest sum the fair has paid a performer for a grandstand show.
Hip-hop singer Fergie, shown at Street Scene at Qualcomm Stadium in 2005, will make an appearance at the San Diego County Fair next month.
“We’re investing a lot of money in her,” acknowledged Barry Nussbaum, board member for the 22nd District Agricultural Association, a state agency that oversees the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
As the economy continues its decline, officials say they are marketing the fair – which runs from June 14 to July 6 – as a bargain for families looking for a day of entertainment across the 344-acre venue. (Full Story)

| Mayer and Fergie serenade birthday boy Clooney |

John Mayer and Fergie gave George Clooney a birthday to remember when they serenaded the movie star during a private party in New York on Monday night.
Clooney turned 47 on Tuesday and hosted a post-Met Costume Gala party at Bungalow 8, where he was joined by his girlfriend, Sarah Larson, David Beckham, Mayer and Fergie.
Earlier in the evening, the birthday boy co-hosted the fashion Oscars with pal Julia Roberts and Giorgio Armani.
